National Peanut Festival and Fair
2009 CLUBS & ORGANIZATIONS EXHIBITS
Alabama Department of Agriculture State Aid to Fair Through enabling act 1122, passed during the regular session of the 1969 Legislature, the Agriculture Center Board is a co-sponsor of this year’s National Peanut Festival and Fair and pays a portion of the premiums, prizes and awards listed in the program.

GENERAL RULES AND REGULATIONS Booths are located in the Premium Exhibit Building on the Fairgrounds located on Highway 231 South. Dimensions for exhibit space are 10 feet deep, 8 feet high and 8 feet wide.
1. Entry forms should be mailed to Linda C. Garrett, P.O. Box 1823, Dothan, AL 36302.
2. Work on booths begins on Tuesday, October 27, 2009, 9:00 a.m., and MUST be completed by 7:00 p.m. Please allow yourself enough time to set up. The building will be locked at 7:00 p.m. Failure to adhere to these rules may lead to disqualification for judging.
3. Judging will take place on Friday, October 30, 2009 at 8:30 a.m. Exhibitors are not allowed in the exhibit area during judging.
4. Booth spaces will be filled on a first come first serve basis. There are sixteen spaces.
5. All booths MUST remain in place until Sunday, November 8, 2009. Removal is between 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. Any exhibit not picked up during this time will become the property of the National Peanut Festival.
6. One 110 volt electrical outlet will be furnished for each exhibit. You must supply your own heavy duty extension cord. 7. Department Chairmen and committee members will be responsible for checking on your exhibit daily.
8. All exhibits are unmanned.
9. There shall be no soliciting of funds in the exhibit area.
10. Reasonable caution in the safeguarding of exhibits will be exercised, but the Festival CANNOT assume responsibility for any loss or damage incurred.
11. Indoor/Outdoor carpet will be furnished for each booth. If sand is used in exhibit, carpet must be removed. If straw, hay, peanuts, etc. are used in the exhibit, carpet must be cleaned before storing.

Grand prize winners in each division will receive a Rosette and a Silver Tray.

Judging Criteria
1. Display and use of the National Peanut Festival 20 points theme in exhibit
2. Power to arouse, attract and hold interest of the 20 points viewer and the extent to which exhibit promotes the interest in the idea, project or practice portrayed or recommended
3. The content idea of the exhibit is educational, 30 points worthwhile, distinctive and significant
4. General appearance, attractiveness, arrangement 20 points and neatness
